The 2nd Annual Society of Global Scholars Conference will be held at the University of California, Santa Barbara from Friday, March 2 to Saturday, March 3, 2018; the theme of this year’s conference is «Alter-Globalizations: Another World is (Still) Possible.» Bringing together scholars from a range of backgrounds, disciplines, research areas, and institutions, this conference will serve as a forum for the sharing, discussion, and co-actuation of alternatives to the hegemonic globalization/anti-globalization dichotomy. It will foreground and celebrate the global philosophies, movements, networks, and communities that are articulating a host of other possibilities from below.
If you would like to submit an abstract, we ask that you keep the following guidelines in mind, in addition to the other instructions listed on our call for papers:
- Consider the global dimensions and particularly the broader transformative potential of the perspectives, communities, movements, networks, and/or events you are foregrounding; what makes them examples of alternative globalization?
- Your abstract should be as concise as possible—certainly no longer than 300 words.
To apply, please submit your name, email, university and department affiliation with your abstracts of 200-300 words by the extended deadline of November 30th, 2017.
